Art by Wesley Willis [1963-2003]. Wesley Willis was a self-taught artist and punk musician who was diagnosed with chronic schizophrenia in 1989. He drew landscapes of Chicago freeways and bus stops freehand using only the straight edge of a pen as a ruler, and he had an eidetic memory so accurate that he could draw various locations from memory. He was a huge fan of rock music; Willis had a running tally of every rock concert he went to, as well as a list of all the things in his life he could write a song about. His subsequent music career, where he performed on the same bill as the Foo Fighters, Henry Rollins, and Sublime, established him as one of the most visible disabled artists of his time.

You can listen to some of Willis’s music here (solo) and here (with his punk band).
